What is Valencia Biofoundry?

Valencia Biofoundry is a network of Valencian entities with an interest in developing and offering shared capabilities in synthetic biology and bioproduction. This platform aims to provide integrated infrastructure to other companies or entities through rapid prototyping of cell factories based on Industry 5.0 principles, including highly automated laboratory equipment integration, device interoperability and the use of artificial intelligence.

Valencia Biofoundry is a collaborative platform focused on advanced bioproduction, connecting scientific talent, infrastructure and innovative projects to drive biotechnology in the Valencian Community.

Who we are

Bioval is the association of companies and entities that make up the Bio Cluster of the Valencian Community. Bioval's work covers biotechnology, or more broadly the Bio sector, understood as activities related to life sciences and bioeconomy, including biomedicine, agrobiotechnology, agri-food biotechnology, environmental, marine and industrial biotechnology.

I2SYSBio focuses on research into the structure, function, dynamics, evolution and manipulation of complex biological systems, with special interest in process automation in the context of bioproduction in cell factories, combining metabolic engineering and synthetic biology.

IBMCP is an internationally recognised centre for plant research, with outstanding capabilities in plant synthetic biology and plant biofactories. They are noted for their expertise in the design and assembly of synthetic genetic circuits, the use of advanced genome editing technologies and the development of plant platforms for the production of recombinant proteins of industrial and therapeutic interest.

IATA is an international reference in agri-food research. Its focus on yeast metabolism in wine fermentation, especially under low temperature conditions, and its expertise in industrial microbiology bioprocesses represent a key contribution to the development of advanced biotechnological solutions.

AINIA is a technology centre with over 35 years of experience in R&D&I, offering companies innovation, technology and consultancy services in sectors such as agriculture, food, cosmetics, chemicals, environment and pharmaceuticals. With facilities of over 13,000 m², they have state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment for R&D.

INESCOP is an innovation and technology centre with 50 years of experience, providing technological services, transferring knowledge and researching topics of general interest to the footwear sector. Its main objective is to promote innovation in the footwear sector, offering solutions to meet the scientific and technical needs of companies.

PERSEO Biotechnology is a company specialising in the development of advanced technological solutions based on the valorisation of waste and by-products into new high added-value products.

PERSEO has the capacity to develop and implement industrial processes for valorising organic waste and by-products into advanced bioethanol, bioproducts and bioenergy using its own technology, applying sustainability and circular economy principles to the fullest.

Bioinicia is a company specialising in the development and manufacture of nanostructured materials using electrospinning and electrospray technologies. It has extensive experience in sectors such as pharma, cosmetics, food and medical devices, as well as in the development of advanced formulations, biomolecule encapsulation and production process scale-up.

Madeinplant is an agrobiotechnology company dedicated to the production of high added-value biomolecules in plants and the development of biotechnological tools for commercially valuable processes in sectors such as agri-food, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. 

ADM Biopolis is a biotechnology company founded in 2003, with the primary objective of transferring quality science to the agri-food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. It offers contract research and production services to the agri-food, chemical and pharmaceutical industries to improve their competitive position and advantages.

Bionanopharma is a Joint Venture between the Bioinicia Group (spin-off from IATA-CSIC) and the multinational pharmaceutical company InSud Pharma, for the development and commercialisation of new pharmaceutical and biomedical products based on nanotechnology.
